2 Presidents and a Governor for Samoa’s Independence Celebrations

 

The Samoan police in a previous Independence parade at the Mulinu’u traditional malae. The 2016 celebrations will be one of the very first to be held outside of Mulinu’u.

APIA, SAMOA: TUESDAY 24 MAY 2016: The Presidents of Fiji, His Excellency George Konrote & Mrs Konrote and the President of French Polynesia, His Excellency Tagaloa Edouard Fritch & Mrs Fritch will join the Governor of American Samoa, Afioga Lolo Moliga and Faletua in the 54th anniversary celebrations of Samoa’s independence 01 June 2016.

The Titular Head of Tokelau, Hon. Aliki Faipule Afega Gaualofa & Mrs Kilita Gaualofa will be among the VIPs.

The celebrations start with the Dedication Church Service under the auspices of the National Council of Churches 31 May and the formal ceremonies including the address by His Highness the Head of State, the Flag raising and March Past at the Tuana’imato Sports complex, early Wednesday 01 June 2016.

Thursday 02 June and Friday 03 June will be public holidays.
