60 unemployed youth undergo ICT training

APIA, SAMOA – MONDAY 25 JUNE 2018: A two week training in computer literacy for unemployed youth in Samoa commenced today.

The Pilot ICT Training programme is funded by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and is training 60 unemployed youth in the ICT field.

The key focus of the program is to equip the youth of Samoa with ICT skills and knowledge to enable them to find more employment opportunities in this particular field.  This initiative puts emphasis on the government’s efforts to train, prune and prepare the youth of Samoa for the future.

The pilot program is a small step on the path to Digital Samoa, and it is facilitated by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and the Ministry of Women, Community and Social Development in collaboration with the National University of Samoa.
