APIA: MONDAY 8 SEPTEMBER 2014: The date and details of the historic All Blacks test against Manu Samoa in Samoa this time next year will be finalized and announced this week.
The Chairman of the Samoa Rugby Union, Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi said he is travelling to meet with the NZRU officials this week to finalize the date and details of the test match.
He said the details would be announced from New Zealand when the details are finalized.
He also confirmed that the venue, Apia Park will be refurbished to meet IRB standards. This will include the extension of the field and moving the running track further outside for the players’ safety. The running track around the rugby pitch will also be used for the 2015 Commonwealth Youth Games Samoa is hosting.
The much anticipated test match will be a few months before the World Cup and is seen as a good build up for both teams. The Samoa Rugby Union has previously acknowledged the challenges in hosting the test match including the costs and finding sponsors for the historic event.
