APIA: TUESDAY 4 FEBRUARY 2014: The body of a a father of six who went missing in the weekend while fishing has been found.
The body of Segiali’i Feiloaiga, 53, was found yesterday morning on a beach off the coast of Satitoa village, located on the eastern coast of Upolu Island.
A team of Police and Fire and Emergency searchers a short distance away were alerted to the discovery.
Segiali’i, of Aufaga, a village further east of Satitoa, went fishing last Saturday night with six others who got into difficulties in bad weather.
The others were rescued early Sunday morning – and a search for their missing companion mounted.
“Segiali’i was found close to the Satitoa Wharf,” Acting Commissioner of Police, Fauono Talalelei Tapu said.
The Acting Commissioner called on fishermen to take always precautions before a fishing trip.
“They should at least know the weather condition of the day before heading off,” he said.
