SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA: MONDAY 22 MARCH 205: The Buy Samoa Australia Trade Show kicked off in sunshine in Liverpool, Sydney Australia this morning. Some fifty Samoa companies with manufactured goods ranging from beer and beverages, fashion, coconut cream, chips, nonu juice, avocado oil and handicrafts, organic soil and many more are now being exhibited at the Mercure Hotel, in Liverpool for the next three days.
The exhibition was opened by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Trade, Commerce and Industries, Fonotoe Pierre Lauofo in the presence of a huge section of the Samoan community and a cross section some Australian businesses.
The opening prayer service was conducted by Father Spa Silva and the opening was also attended by the Samoa Speaker of Parliament, La’auli Leuatea Polataivao and Australia’s High Commissioner in Apia, Sue Langford, Samoa’s Consul General in Australia Manogiamanu Fonoti Etuale Ioane and Samoa’s Trade Commissioner in New Zealand Tofaeono Iupati Fuatai.
The Buy Samoa Made Australia follows the success of the Buy Samoa Made New Zealand Tradeshow in 2013 that showed a huge increase in Samoan made products exported to that market as a result of the Tradeshow.
The Tradeshow is accompanied by presentations to attract investment in Samoa by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Samoa Tourism Authority.
