APIA: The eight charges of forgery against businesswoman and former President of the Chamber of Commerce, Lemalu Sina Retzlaff were withdrawn by leave and dismissed in the District Court this morning.

Inspector Sale Sala’a for the Prosecution requested that the charges be withdrawn after the complainant Muliagatele Brian Lima, Lemalu’s former husband approached the Police and asked to withdraw the charges.

Muliagatele was called before the Court by Judge Vaepule Vaemoa Va’ai to confirm his request for the withdrawal of the charges against his ex-wife.

Muliagatele told the Court that he had forgiven her. He also said that his love for their children and the maintaining of good relations between the two families in the future had prompted him to forgive the defendant and withdraw the charges.

Defense Counsel Brenda Heather Latu sought to dismiss the eight charges against her client. Judge Vaepule granted the application.
