APIA: THURSDAY 25 JULY 2013: An official explanation of why Samoa Air flights to American Samoa were halted last Friday is not forthcoming.

“Apologies we cannot comment on the matter,” director of Civil Aviation Division, Nanai Junior Saaga, said by email today.

“It was a technical problem within MWTI,” chief executive officer of Samoa Air, Chris Langton said by email today.

MWTI is Ministry of Works, Transport and Industry, which civil aviation is under.

Langton won’t elaborate on what the technical problem was.

Only that it was a “little hiccup – not our fault.”
