APIA, SAMOA: MONDAY 16 MONDAY 2016: The Congregational Christian Church of Samoa ordained 18 new pastors last Saturday.

The 18 ordained pastors graduated from Malua Theological School 2 years ago, but as with the church tradition, they must serve out 2 years in various church obligations before being ordained to perform the full roles of a church minister.

During the ordination, Church Chairman, Reverend Elder Tavita Roma cautioned them to follow the rules and the teachings of the Bible.

“You should walk according to your calling with humbleness, cautiousness, patience and love,” said Reverend Elder Roma.

“You should love Jesus and feed his flock, and let you be an example for good things.”

He also cautioned them not to belittle the gift handed down to them but to serve it out honestly.

After the ordination, the 18 pastors can now conduct services such as funerals, weddings, Holy Communions and baptism.

The ordination class includes 2 from America, 2 from New Zealand, 4 from Australia and 10 from Samoa.
