The Commonwealth champion had not looked in her best in the initial Snatch section of the 75kg+ competition here in London. Initially, her starting attempt listed on the board would be at 122kg. The Russian and Chinese lifters who won the Snatch competition with 151kg (World Record) and 146kg respectively still yet to start their lifts up at 175kg.
China’s lifter raised a new Olympic Record for the Snatch of 146kg before Russia’s champion superseded further with a new world record of 151kg!!
