APIA: WEDNESDAY 15 MAY 2013: Whether the defendant arrested after a probe into a load of over 900 cartons of illegal whisky is to face more charges remains a mystery.

Defendant Christine Ainuu, 32, of Apia, appeared in the District Court last month, charged with falsifying documents.

But Police indicated more charges might be laid against the defendant when they applied successfully for a month’s adjournment to finalise charges against her.

She was not required to enter a plea then.

At the re-mention of the matter in the District Court yesterday, the Police Prosecutor told Justice Mata Tuatagaloa they had completed their investigation.

But Ainuu’s lawyer, Toleafoa Solomona Toailoa was involved in another matter in the Supreme Court and wasn’t available to appear for his client in the District Court.

Justice Tuatagaloa further adjourned the matter without plea to 4 June for defence counsel to appear and enter a plea for his client.
