APIA: FRIDAY 22 NOVEMBER 2013:  The Heather family of Tufuiopa is mourning the death of Thesaurus Heather, the only boy in a family of nine girls.

A relative said that as their only brother the sisters doted on Thesaurus.

He was also close to his parents May and Richard Heather.

Thesaurus died early yesterday morning when a Land Cruiser pick-up skidded off the road and rolled at Vailoa, Faleata.

The accident also killed Jessie Risale of Vaimoso.

Both young men were passengers at the back of the pick-up.

Both were dead at Tupua Tamasese Meaole Hospital yesterday.

Risale was on a visit from New Zealand with his parents and sister. They arrived three weeks ago. Risale’s sister has since returned to New Zealand while he remained to spend Christmas with relatives here.

The accident occurred at 3am yesterday.

There were four occupants of the pick-up, the driver a grand-daughter of a prominent business couple. She and another female friend survived the incident.

The Police say alcohol and speeding appear to have been factors in the accident. Their investigation of the matter continues.
