APIA: WEDNESDAY 5 JUNE 2013: Guess it was bound to happen.

Internet on the beach!

Telecommunications company BlueSky realised from customer comments that some want to access the internet while on the go; that wherever they go some holidaymakers and business folk take along their laptops, mobile phones or tablets and want continuous contact with friends, family and others back home.

“And some people do need a lot of interneting,” said Chief Operating Officer, Toleafoa Douglas Creevey.

So they’ve launched Bluezone, zones created at hotels, restaurants and other public places where visitors can access the internet.

Such zones or “hotspots” can be installed anywhere in the country and that is BluSky’s ambition.
