APIA: WEDNESDAY 17 APRIL 2013: No reason for Toa Samoa to look for a replacement for Kalifa Faifailoa.
“He is cleared by RLIF (Rugby League International Federation) to play for Samoa,” said Tagaloa Faafouina Su’a, president of Rugby League Samoa Inc. today.
With that Toa Samoa go through their scheduled activities for today – Fan Day at 2pm and training at 3pm at Cabramatta – complete.
The players take a day off tomorrow, go for a Captains Run Friday morning, then endure a tense wait for the 7.30pm kick-off against Tonga at Centrebet Stadium, Penrith on Saturday, 20 April.
RLIF has given the game international status so all NRL clubs are required to release their players for it.
It allows Samoa and Tonga to call on their best so the clash promises to be a tough and exciting encounter.
Samoa and Tonga become the first two teams to play a test to commemorate ANZAC Day apart from Australia and New Zealand.
Both teams regard the game as preparation for the World Cup in October.
