Major sponsor of Miss Samoa 2013 revealed

APIA: FRIDAY 30 AUGUST 2013: The major sponsor of the Miss Samoa Pageant was today revealed to be Bluesky Samoa.

The telecommunications company today 2013 handed over $49,000 to this year’s pageant organisers Manaia Events.

“Bluesky is extremely honoured to sponsor such a prestigious and much anticipated event which officially closes the Teuila Festival every year,” said Chief Executive Officer of Bluesky Ao’e Adolfo Montenegro.

Aoe’e said the sponsorship is in line with the company’s goal to “empower our youth and celebrate our culture.”

“It is always a challenge to find sponsors for big events like these but Bluesky came on board immediately with their support both financially and in kind,” said Director of Manaia Events  Leiataualesa Jerry Brunt.

The Miss Samoa pageant this year is the first one to be run by an organisation in the private sector, said Leiataualesa, and his team is “excited and will ensure  an amazing  and well organised event for Samoa.”

The eight contestants who will be vying for the crown toured  Bluesky’s  premises today and were briefed  about the company’s  products and services.

The tour proved to be helpful to one of the contestants who will be speaking on Information and Technology (IT) at the pre pageant interview.

Bluesky will also be streaming live coverage of the pageant next Friday.
