National University appoints Deputy Vice Chancellor

APIA, SAMOA – THURSDAY 27 SEPTEMBER 2018: Ms.Maugaoalii Ufagalilo Fa’amanu Diana Mualia is the newly appointed Deputy Vice Chancellor of Corporate Services at the National University of Samoa.

The announcement was made by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Fui Asofou So’o in a media conference today.

“She has a wealth of experience and expertise to strengthen the overarching corporate and strategic goals of the Institute,” said the Vice Chancellor.

Maugaoalii will manage 7 departments including Human Resources, Learning Resource Centre, Finance, Property Maintenance, Student Administration, Student Support Services and the International office.

The new Deputy Vice Chancellor’s challenge is to look at implementing and attracting donor partners for the development of the University.

“At the moment New Zealand and Australia are the University’s main development partners, but we are looking at expanding it to the United States, China, and Japan for education opportunities.”

And that vision according to Mualia hopes to achieve it in the next 3 years.

Eight applicants applied for the position and after extensive deliberation, Maugaoalii was appointed.

The newly appointed Deputy Vice Chancellor takes over former Ms. Cheri Robinson-Moors who has moved to head APTC Institute.

Academic Qualifications
* Bachelor of Tourism: University of Otago (NZ)
* Bachelor of Commerce – Marketing and Management International Business: University of Otago
* Bachelor of Arts (South Pacific & East Asia Archaeology) – University of Otago
