Neptune Pacific Line Announces Merging of Pacific Forum Line and Polynesian Shipping Line

The Merge supports our vision of creating long term, sustainable shipping networks throughout the Pacific islands

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA, 02 FEBRUARY 2016: Polynesian Shipping Line and Pacific Forum Line, two respected brands in the Pacific island shipping and logistics industry, have merged to form one entity, trading as Pacific Forum Line.

The merge has been announced by Neptune Pacific Line and their partners in Pacific Forum Line, the Government of Samoa, advising customers, partners and service providers, that agreements have concluded to merge the Neptune owned Polynesian Shipping Line (PSL) business with Pacific Forum Line Group (PFL), effective 31st January, 2016.

Neptune’s Managing Director, Rolf Rasmussen said that the Pacific Forum Line will continue to be managed by Neptune.

“Over the coming months, the various interests across our islands network will merge into one significant shipping and logistics provider, solely focused on the Pacific islands,” he said in a media statement.

Services offered will include:
–     Shipping and agency services on the majority of the Pacific islands trade lanes
–     Container park, servicing and storage facilities
–     Warehousing, including storage and container packing and unpacking
–     Air freight and sea freight forwarding
–     Stevedoring and transport services
–     Equipment sale and hire
–     Global NVOCC services

“Polynesian Shipping Line was acquired by Neptune in September 2014. The businesshas considerable support and capability across the Pacific islands. It makes good sense to bring our partners in Pacific Forum Line onboard, and we are very pleased the Government of Samoa has agreed with our long term vision for this business,” said Rasmussen.

“This  transaction  and  subsequent  merger  of  the  two  entities  adds  further  to  our Neptune and PFL business’s, and supports our vision of creating a sustainable network to develop our service offerings to our customers, and will provide further opportunity for our employee’s and service providers.”
