APIA: TUESDAY 11 SEPTEMBER 2012: The prisoner who died in a car accident infront of his home at Tufulele, is suspected to have been suicidal as he ran away from Tafaigata prison to check on his wife who he suspected was with another man.

The Assistant Commissioner of Police, Leaupepe Fatu Pula confirmed that the prisoner was found dead inside the taxi when it ran into a breadfruit tree infront of his home.

The prisoner, Sesele Collins was serving a three year sentence for producing counterfeit money, and ran away from custody then stole a taxi infront of Frankies Shop at Leauva’a. The taxi is owned by an old man Talavou Talaia of Siusega.

Leaupepe suspects that was the reason why the prisoner stole the car was to go to his family at Tufulele to get the truth about his wife.

“The accident happened when Tasele crashed into a breadfruit tree infront of their family home at Tufulele,” said Leaupepe.

He also said that Police found him inside of Talavou’s taxi infront of his house at Tufulele and he was already dead.
