APIA: WEDNESDAY 15 MAY 2013: Two employees sacked by Ministry of Education, Sports and Culture for theft could face criminal charges.

Preparation of a complaint to be laid against the pair with Police is underway, Chief Executive Officer, Matafeo Tanielu Aiafi said today.

“My staff are working on this case to ensure we follow the
correct procedures in referring this matter to the Police,” said Matafeo.

He has declined to name the pair or their designations within the ministry before they were sacked accused of having stolen stationery from Ministry headquarters at Malifa.

Originally two security guards were accused of the theft and suspended but were later cleared.

It’s believed at least one of the guards identified who had taken the missing stationery.
