Samoa and Fiji continue deepening and strengthening close relations

Samoa’s Head of State Tuimalealiifano Vaaleto’a Sualauvi 11 accepting Fiji’s Roving Ambassador to the Pacific islands, Ratu Seremaia Tuianusori Cavuilati this morning

APIA, SAMOA – TUESDAY 05 FEBRUARY 2019: The Roving Ambassador Designate of the Republic of Fiji to the Pacific Islands States today presented his credentials to the Head of State at Government House.

“I undertake to honour the commitment of the Government of Fiji in deepening and strengthening the cordial and fruitful relation that have existed between our two countries,” said Ratu Seremaia Tuianusori Cavuilati when he presented his credentials to Samoa’s Head of State Tuimalealiifano Vaaleto’a Sualauvi II this morning.

He presented his Letter of Credence with greetings and best wishes from the President of the Republic of Fiji, H.E Major General (Rtrd) Jioji Konusi Konrote.

His Highness  the Head of State, Tuimalealiifano Vaaleto’a Sualauvi II accepted the Letter of Credence and “I humbly ask that you convey my best wishes for the good health of His Excellency General Major  Jioji Konusi Konrote as well as the prosperity of the people of Fiji.”

He acknowledged the commitment by the Government of Fiji in strengthening close relations, and extended his sincere thanks to President and his First Lady for joining the celebration of Samoa’s 56 years of independence last year.

Tuimalealiifano also acknowledged the contribution of Fiji to the collective efforts for the region through the Pacific Island Leaders Forum and the International arena on addressing the pressing issues of Climate Change.

The Samoa Head of States is confident that the diplomatic relations between Samoa and Fiji will continue to grow.

Ratu Seremaia Tuianusori Cavuilati is also Fijis’ Special Envoy to the Regional Organizations under the Council of Regional Organizations in the Pacific.
