Samoa Sevens settles on Plate in Hong Kong
Samoa Sevens has settled with the Plate narrowly beating Argentina in Hong Kong last night 12-10. Samoa was knocked out of the Cup contention by South Africa in the quarters 27-14. Coach Stephen Betham says the team slept for a full seven minutes hence the disappointing loss to South Africa.
“Its not yet finished as we head to Japan next weekend,” Betham assures the local fans after winning the Plate.
New Zealand lost to Fiji which was in top form in the Cup finals 35-28. New Zealand still leads the pool table with 111 points, only two points ahead of Fiji with 109. South Africa lies in thrid place with 93 points, England 89 and Samoa in fifth place with 82 points. Australia, Wales, Argentina, France and Kenya make the bottom half of the top ten.
