APIA: 31 July 2012: The Samoa Rugby Union held its Annual General meeting this month, where all its Affiliated Members met to approve the Union’s Annual report, the Financial Statement of the Union 2011 financial year and also to elect an Executive for the Samoa Rugby Union.

The occasion marked the first time the Samoa Rugby Union meets for its Annual General Meeting at its $4.5 million High Performance and Administrative Compound.

The Annual General Meeting was chaired by the President, Hon Tuiloma Pule Lameko, who is a representative of the Falealili Rugby Union and one of the longest serving members of the Union.

Hon. Tuiloma Lameko has served the Samoa Rugby Union for more than 40 years having initially represented the Apia Rugby Union.

The members approved the Annual Report and the Financial Statements and Report as audited by Lesa ma Penn.

The members in electing the Executive unanimously approved the re-election of the current Executive members. The only 2 changes made by the members was increasing the number of Vice Patrons from 4 to 8, and electing Mr. Afoa Kolone Vaai as the Independent member to replace Mr. Suafaiga Peter Blood who stood down from the Executive due to other commitments.
