SVSG gets old Court Office in Tuasivi, Savai’i

TUASIVI, SAVAI’I: SATURDAY 27 FEBRUARY 2016: The old Court office in Tuasivi, Savaii has been handed over for the work of the Samoa Victim Support Group in Savai’i.

The office was handed over by Judge Tafaoimalo Leilani Tuala-Warren who joined the CEO of the Ministry of Justice & Courts Administration Papali’i John Taimalelagi to officially hand over the old office for SVSG’s work in Savai’i.

The handover marked the continued working relationship between the Ministry of Justice and the Samoa Victim Support Group.

The SVSG village representatives in Savai’i and SVSG President Siliniu Lina Chang accepted the old court office with gratitude and appreciation on behalf of the Group.

Speaking during the handover ceremony at Tuasivi on Wednesday evening, Papali’i acknowledged the vision of Judge Tafaoimalo to assist SVSG with its work as an important partner of the Family Court.  The assistance is now extended to SVSG’s Tuasivi Office and its work for the people of Savai’i.

SVSG will renovate the old court office with the support of the SVSG village representatives of Savai’i.

SVSG President Siliniu Lina Chang thanked the Minister of Justice Hon. Fiame Naomi and the Chief Justice Hon. Tiava’asu’e Falefatu Sapolu, for supporting the hand-over of the old court office to house the SVSG Office at Tuasivi.

Siliniu says SVSG looks forward to continue its support of the Family Court through its advocacy counseling program. She also thanked the CEO Papali’i John for supporting SVSG’s work, starting from when he was looking after the MJCA Tuasivi Office, culminating in this important assistance with the office handover.
