Ten prisoners recovering from typhoid

APIA: Ten prisoners who were infected by typhoid are slowly recovering at the National Hospital.

The Assistant Police Commissioner, Leaupepe Fatu Pula said specific Police Officers and prisoners have been chosen to prepare meals for the prisoners.

He also stated that the were looking to have the inmates have their meals in the cells separately to avoid them eating together which causes the spread of diseases quickly.

The prison underwent a major clean up last week on instructions from the Ministry of Health following incidences of the disease at the time when the deadly MRSA bacteria was reported at the hospital.
