APIA: MONDAY 20 MAY 2013: Our top local rugby league players are set to celebrate Independence Day in Hawaii.

Not for a holiday but to smash USA Tomahawks Residents players who get in the way to the try line in a game at Aloha Stadium.

The Toa (Samoa) Residents v. USA Tomahawks Residents clash is slated for June 1st complete with live entertainment at the interval in the grand manner of entertainment in America.

It won’t be a full Samoa v. USA test but it gives resident players of both nations to press claims for a spot in the World Cup 2013 campaign.

Samoa Rugby League has selected the squad for Hawaii but is keeping the names of the players under wraps until an official announcement next week.

But the team departs for Hawaii via American Samoa on Friday 31st May.
