Two couples arrested for drugs and weapons

APIA: WEDNESDAY 10 OCTOBER 2012: Police have arrested two couples at Malifa and Togafu’afu’a when drugs and illegal weapons were found during a police raid of their homes.

Police Assistant Commissioner Leaupepe Fatu Pula confirmed that the two couples were arrested by Police last Thursday. The Malifa couple is a 41 year old father and a 31 year old mother and have young children.

He said that Police found a lot of marijuana leaves, weapons and also $4,418 cash in their home. Leaupepe said the money is proceeds from drug sales.

On the same day, the Police raided the home of another couple at Togafu’afu’a where police found marijuana leaves. The second couple is 37 year old father and and his 27 year old wife.

Leaupepe said both mothers have been released but their husbands are still in custody until the time they appear in court 22 October.
