APIA: FRIDAY 5 JULY 2013: A verdict on charges laid against 18 Satapuala residents arising from a road block last year was today postponed as one of the defence lawyers is overseas.

District Court Judge Vaepule Vaemoa Vaai wanted all three lawyers present in court when the verdict is delivered.

Lawyer Papali’i Li’o Masepa’u, who represented 10 of the defendants, including Member of Parliament for A’ana Alofi No.3, Toeolesulusulu Cedric Schuster, is overseas.

The charges arose out of incidents at a partial block of the road at Satapuala, just down from Faleolo International Airport, on September 2012, involving residents and Police armed with riot gear.

The charges include obstruction, uttering threatening words, insulting words, unlawful assembly, armed with dangerous weapons and unlicensed weapons.

The verdict will be delivered on Friday 12th July 2013.
