Fuimaono Lydwina Henrietta Nio, Samoa Airways newly appointed Regional Manager for Australia and New Zealand


 APIA, SAMOA – 20 DECEMBER 2019: Samoa Airways has appointed Fuimaono Lydwina Henrietta Nio as Regional Manager Australia & New Zealand for Samoa’s national carrier.

She will be based in Sydney, Australia where she has been residing for the last 31 years. Fuimaono took up the new position in November 2019, moving on from a previous role within Samoa Airways as Country Sales Manager Australia.

“We are pleased to confirm Fuimaono Lydwina Henrietta Nio’s appointment to the position of Regional Manager Australia and New Zealand for Samoa Airways,” says Leuluaialii Robert Rounds, the airlines General Manager, Commercial.

Fuimaono brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience in sales and management.

She is well known for her outstanding reputation in sales and business development in the travel and airline industry. She is passionate about serving Samoa and is committed to growing our business out of Australia and New Zealand – She will be a great asset to Samoa Airways.

Fuimaono is delighted to take on her new role and has her sights set on growing the business for Samoa Airways out of Australia and New Zealand,

A personal goal fulfilled 
Fuimaono says she is fulfilling a life-long goal to serve Samoa’s national carrier, inspired by her parents who were long time employees of then Polynesian Airlines.

“As a young girl we lived in the village of Vaigaga and my parents had the job of transporting Polynesian Airlines’ staff from the airport to head office or their homes.

I was always around people who worked for the airline and I would watch my parents as they continuously carried on this routine. I made up my mind back then that one day I was going to work for Polynesian Airlines.”

Fuimaono’s experience in the aviation industry spans across 25 years beginning her early career as a travel consultant from the 1990s till 2019 for Golden Eagle Travel Agency, Worldwide Travel and also a wholesaler for Coral Seas Holidays.

She has extensive experience as a Consolidator working previously for CVFR, OTA TBO Holidays, GSA- Aviation Online. After a brief stint at Polynesian Airlines in 2000, she spent ten years at Fiji Airways before completing a full circle – coming back to Samoa Airways where she says she belongs.
