Tuifa’asisina Sieni Tualega-Voorwinden, SIFA’s new Chief Executive Officer

APIA, SAMOA – 14 FEBRUARY 2020: Another Samoan female with a chiefly matai title has been appointed as the new Chief Executive of the Samoa International Finance Authority – SIFA.
Tuifaasisina Sieni Tualega-Voorwinden’s appointment was approved by Cabinet this week and replaces To’oto’oole’a’ava Dr. Fanaafi Le Tagaloa.
Tuifaasisina Voorwinden is a lawyer by profession and holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws degrees from Auckland University. She is no stranger to SIFA as she was employed at the Authority for over ten years. She was also contracted as SIFA’s ACEO for Registration and Legal for six years. She is currently employed as the Manager of Operations and Responses of The Cause Collective New Zealand, a Pacific social change agency based in Auckland.
Tuifaasisina hails from Falelatai village. She is the daughter of Mrs. Situli Tualega and the late Malaetele Ve’a Tualega. She is married to music producer, Barney Voorwinden and they have four children.
The SIFA was established in 2005 as Government’s response to rapid changes in the global financial environment. The Authority is mandated to provide up to date management solutions to investors seeking to establish and maintain structures for benefits. The Authority is governed by a Board of Directors that includes the Attorney General, Governor of the Central Bank of Samoa, CEO of the Ministry of Finance and four private sector representatives.
